Backing up Databases
These steps should be followed for every database you have added to cPanel.
- In cPanel click
MySQL Databases. - Add a MySQL Username. Make a note of the password.
- Assign the user to the database. For backups you require at least
SELECTpermissions, but restore functionality requires all permissions so we recommend ticking every box. - Back on the cPanel dashboard click
Remote Accessunder databases and add the IP addresses you see on the Backup Databases tab in fixed.net. These should be in the format1.2.3.4. - On the Backups tab, under Database Backups, click
Configure Database Backups. Then enter the following:- The hostname is again yourdomain.com (whatever your domain name is)
- The database username and password are the ones you entered.
- Enter the name of the database
